Cl. napaulensis
0.csnapa
8m
zone 7-9
($E)
(from Nepal)
Occ. available
Deciduous wintergreen with a dormancy period during midsummer (where it looks dead, and is better off on the dry side than the wet). Very nice, but said to seed itself everywhere, so therefore be cautious. Quite vigorous. (xA) Closely related to the winter flowering Cl. cirrhosa. Small but attractive flower, but the flowering season too short to be worthwhile.

Cl. 'Nelly Moser'

zone 4-9
($B)
('Belisaire' X 'Marcel Moser')(Moser, 1897)
Flowers 17cm across, tepals x8, rosy-mauve with carmine bar. Anthers reddish-purple. Brilliance of the bar vary greatly from year to year. (xB) Suitable cut flower. Attractive seed heads.

Cl. 'Niobe'
0.ccniob
2.5m
zone 4-9
($B)
(Noll, 1975)
Very free flowering, lovely very deep velvety red 15cm tepals x5-6, anthers creamy yellow. Extremely long season. Award of Garden Merit. This is not a strong grower, but quite dense. Needs a light background (wall) to show off its fantastic colour. Container! Cut flower! (xB and C)
